Hello from Sansar Gyan Pathshala

October has been a wonderfully busy month — the kind where our classrooms are full of curiosity, colour, celebration, and laughter. Here’s a peek into what’s been happening at school.

Teaching, We Aim to Make it Fun

Our students all learn differently, so our teachers weave together a blend of:

  • real-life stories
  • activities that bring concepts to life
  • and enough fun to make learning feel less like “schoolwork” and more like an adventure.

Classrooms are lively, encouraging, and filled with many wonderful learning moments.

93 students are at school with us.  Every morning begins with a flurry of backpacks, smiles, and “Good mornings!” or सुप्रभात (Suprabhāt) in Hindi!

Half-Yearly Prep: The Learning Marathon

The syllabus is almost halfway, and students are brushing up for the upcoming exams.
Thanks to regular class tests, we know exactly where everyone needs support—and we’re delighted to report that academic progress this year has been better than ever.

There’s something magical about seeing confidence grow one small test at a time.

Growing the School: One Idea at a Time

Every effort is made to bring more kids to school.

Community Outreach:
Parents and students are our best ambassadors — and they’re proudly spreading the word about the school.

Better Teaching, Better Learning:
Our team keeps refining teaching methods so lessons feel fresh and engaging.

New Library & Sports Gear:
Books + sports equipment = happy, active minds.

Student ID Cards:
Not only practical, but the students love having their own “official” identity cards!

Science Lab Underway:
Coming soon: hands-on experiments and lots of “Wow!” moments.

Independence Day

13 October – “Independent India” Awareness Day

We explored everything from Vocal for Local to Samriddha Bharat, helping students understand how small everyday choices can help build a stronger nation.

15 October – Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Jayanti

This was one of the month’s most inspiring days! Teachers shared stories about Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam — India’s beloved “Missile Man” — and the children were excited  by his journey from a small town boy who sold newspapers to a world-renowned scientist and President of India.

Dr Abdul Kalam Jayanti:

  • Loved books just as much as he loved rockets.

  • He failed many times but never stopped trying.

  • His favourite message to children was: “Dream, dream, dream! Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.”

The kids talked about their own dreams — from becoming teachers, scientists, and artists.

It was a beautiful reminder that big dreams don’t need big beginnings — just curiosity, courage, and a kind heart, all qualities Dr. Kalam championed throughout his life.

17 October – Birthdays & Diwali Fun!

This was a double-celebration day!
We celebrated all October birthdays and hosted a joyful Diwali afternoon.
Students:

  • made vibrant rangolis
  • decorated glowing diyas
  • and raced around playing Kho-Kho and Kabaddi.

It was loud. It was colourful. It was perfect.

28 October – Bhajan-Kirtan & Cultural Exchange

We had a special visit from Satyam Anand-ji from Australia!

Together with our students and staff, we enjoyed a heartfelt Bhajan-Kirtan session that filled the school with music, devotion, and big smiles.

30 October – Unity Day (Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Jayanti)

Kids learned how Sardar Patel helped unite India — and why “Unity is Strength” isn’t just a slogan, but a superpower.

We always hope to inspire out kids with these stories!

Looking Ahead

With exams coming up, November will be full of revision, encouragement, and cheering our students on.

But if October taught us anything, it’s that learning feels best when mixed with joy — a formula we intend to keep using.

Thank you for being part of Helping Hands for India.

Your support is what keeps these smiles—and this school—shining.
