Sponsorship made easy

Did you know that it costs approximately $100 CAD (5,000 Rupees) to send a child to school for one year?

It’s so easy to set up a recurring donation online via CanadaHelps if you wish to spread out the costs monthly.

“I have been involved in the Helping Hands for India charity since 2009, first as a board member, and now as an ambassador.  This wonderful charity has minimal overhead and maximum impact (only 2% of overall donations go to administration fees).  In 2015 we introduced the possibility of a monthly donation via the Canada Helps website.  This is a charity that I fully believe in.  We have a direct impact on changing the lives of hundreds of children.  My donation is now completed through the CanadaHelps site and I don’t even have to think about it anymore.  Please consider donating a small amount each month.  Any amount will help.”
– Barb Pierce

Your contribution provides a standard set of textbooks, school uniform – 1 sweater and 1 dress (girls) or 1 shirt and pair of pants (boys) and helps pays for teachers’ salaries. For the price of about 2-3 cups of coffee per month you can help to change the life of a child.

2016 fundraising goal

GirlOur fundraising goal for 2016 is $60,000 CAD. To meet the growing demand for quality education in the village of Pritamgarh, we are expanding by building two new classrooms this year to support grade 6 and 7 students.

The school has been running well for almost two years now and we need your help to keep it going. The budget consists of 67% ($40,000) operating expenses, to cover items such as children’s uniforms and books, teacher and staff salaries, transportation and building maintenance.

The remaining 33% ($20,000) is for capital expenditures, of which our focus this year is to build the two new classrooms.

2015 fundraising update

We’ve come a long way since we began in 2011 building the school which now provides free eduction to over 300 children! HHFIprogress

Now that the kids are in school we need support to help keep it running and our dream is to build a new classroom next year so we can keep the kids in our school up until Grade 6.

The parents in the surrounding villages are waiting patiently for us to build a high school as they have seen firsthand the value that a quality education has provided their children. Just think what this image might look like 5 years from now!

We gratefully accept donations from individuals, corporations and yoga studios. There are many ways to raise funds such as:

  • Donate the revenues from one yoga class per month
  • Teach a karma class by donation
  • Donate online and set up a monthly donation. It costs just $130 per year/child to provide a wholesome and enriching education that these rural girls and boys would not otherwise experience.
  • Schools: hold a bake sale

Other ideas? It’s up to you. Please get in touch and ask us how we can support you in fundraising. Download the full brochure here.
