We’ve taken the first step and have purchased 50,000 bricks which will be used to build our school. It was much more cost effective to buy now as the price goes up during monsoon season when the production of bricks slows down. Our school project vision; uniquely shaped classrooms designed to stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter, surrounded by organic gardens and farmland, next to a river and forest – a perfect learning environment for children.
We are very excited to present the design for the school we will be building in the village of Pittamgarh. It’s been an interesting couple of weeks working with the local architect refining the design, finalizing the budget and determining our building start date, considering the upcoming monsoon season. On a recent visit to the Himalayan Rural Welfare Society a very generous donation of 2 laptops was made! Amit and Naveen were delighted as now they can bring education to those students who cannot make it to the school.
